Anyways, I hope you find this place to be a nifty little pick me up. Naturally this will be a window into our lives, but I also hope for this to be a place for me to be able to relax enough to share my dorky self with the world. I hope I can be real so I don't have to pretend that I enjoy folding clothes (because I don't) and can instead tell you that I spent the day playing blocks with Raz and sewing myself a skirt while eating to many cookies (because I did). But even more so I hope that I can share things with you that will make your life a bit more enlightened such as activities to share with your family's. And of course I'm sure you will find some recipes and crafts sprinkled in. Basically I hope to share ways to enjoy your every day life and spice it up a bit.
I have heard it said that sometimes on the way to a dream you get lost and find a better one, I think I am the perfect example of that. Lets just say that if you broke into a secret government agency and found a top secret time machine and , for some odd reason, decided to go and talk to a younger me...well we will just say she would have shot you a death glare if you told her who she (I mean I...) would be today. But that is the beauty of growing up right? You change and grow into your own, life is unpredictable and sometimes you surprise yourself! It is kind of exciting really, just one day realizing that the one thing that would make you happier then you have ever been was such a simple dream. Honestly it sounds so very lame but I love being a stay at home mom and I love my simple little life. Raz is just an amazing little guy to be around all day. My dreams are odd I guess, I think it would be amazing to write a book full of activities to do with children and yet another on cooking with children. Silly little dreams that may come true one day... I'm a bit of a dork. But that is why I am writing this blog.
So grab a cup of sweet tea and stay awhile. If you like what you see go here and subscribe.
THE Q&A
What made you come up with the name 'Lovely Little Robots' anyways?
I guess 'Lovely Little Robots' is kind of an odd name, huh? I have an odd obsession with the word "lovely" I think. To me lovely means something so exquisite and beautiful that it makes me smile and blush and giggle like a little girl. How happy is the world when you are surround by lovelys! Little is a mixture of us having a 'little' boy and us being a little family. And then I throw robots at you, BAM! When Gus and I got married our wedding cake topper was two robots that we made out of model magic. In honer of that Raz's room is robots in space. We even have a "robot family sticker" on the back of our car.
It just became our thing I guess.
How old is your son?
He was born late May 2010. What does your husband do?
Gus is slowly studying to become a history teacher, a job that is very much him. He knows just about everything about history, it is kind of amazing. He also knows everything about video games, it is kind of crazy. Right now he is actually an assistant manager at a video game retailer. He likes facts...he is shy but if you get him talking on a subject he enjoys you will learn everything about that subject, more then you ever wanted to know! He is an amazing husband and dad. When we got married he surprised me and pulled out his acoustic guitar to serenade me with The Proclaimers '500 Miles' and even wrote the song I walked down the isle to. He is the type of dad who has no problem wearing his child on his back in a woven wrap or spending hours singing silly songs. He is just so laid back and sweet, he really evens me out since I can be a bit hyped up at times. He is also so silly, that is just fun! He may be writing a few guest posts for the dads!
What kind of camera do you use?
I'm embarrassed to say that I use a cheap point and shoot camera: Samsung NV3
I am saving up for new DSLR though. I really enjoy photography and I look forward to having a better camera one day!
